Well, it’s just a window… or is it? Imagine, for a moment, your street with houses that have no windows at all. Frightening, isn’t it?
In films, books, fairy tales, and animation, a window is never just an architectural element – it’s a symbol, a metaphor understood in every culture and language. An open window represents hope; a broken one, sorrow.
During this workshop, we’ll explore the history and symbolism of one of the most familiar yet profound architectural elements – the window. In the second half, we’ll open a window into the world of animation, creating a short frame-by-frame film that brings to life our observations or imagined scenes – everything we can see through a window or from it.
