Exhibition “She and Her 20th Century” in Mogilev.
The Exhibition Hall of Mogilev will host the opening of the exhibition project “She and Her 20th Century”, dedicated to the artistic and documentary representation of women in the history of the twentieth century.

The exhibition brings together unique photographic materials dating from 1900 to 2000 from the collection of Mogilev photographer Irina Savosina. The collection includes rare images from family archives, historic photo studios, as well as works by professional photographers, photojournalists, and amateurs, preserving a visual chronicle of a remarkable era.

The project presents the many-sided image of women in the twentieth century – a time of profound social change, wars, labour achievements, cultural development, and the transformation of women’s role in society. Visitors will see portraits of women from different generations: elegant ladies of the early century, schoolgirls, factory workers of the 1930s and 1940s, women of the wartime period, participants in the post-war reconstruction, as well as representatives of science, culture, medicine, education, and sport.

A special section of the exhibition is devoted to women whose lives became part of national history. Among them are actress Vera Yanukova, Mogilev resident Klavdia Kravchenko, who rescued wounded soldiers during the Battle of Stalingrad, Hero of Socialist Labour Anna Pinchuk, and other outstanding women of their time.

The exhibition is complemented by paintings from the collections of the Pavel Maslenikov Art Museum and the Museum of History of Mogilev, expanding the visual context of the project and presenting the female image through different artistic interpretations.

“She and Her 20th Century” is dedicated to memory, continuity between generations, and the important role of women in shaping the cultural and social landscape of the twentieth century.
