S.Plytkievich, V.Sutyagin: Praise the Name of the Lord!

On November 4th at 17:00, the University of Culture Art Gallery in Minsk will open a spiritual and photographic exhibition titled Praise the Name of the Lord!, presented within the Days of Orthodox Culture.

The project is organized with the blessing of Metropolitan Benjamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, and initiated by the Parish of St. Sophia of Slutsk in Minsk.

The exhibition brings together two solo photographic projects: Belarus: A Glimpse Through the Centuries by Sergey Plytkievich and The Road to Light by Vladimir Sutyagin.

Their works reveal the spiritual and cultural landscape of Belarus – resplendent Orthodox churches rising skyward, historic manor houses and palaces where life and thought once flourished, and scenes capturing the country’s striking natural beauty.

Sergey Plytkievich is a renowned Belarusian photographer, an honorary member of the Belarusian Association of Photographers, journalist, and publisher. He is the author of more than ten photo books dedicated to his homeland, director of the national tourism and wildlife foundation Planet Without Borders, and founder of the publishing house Riftur.

Vladimir Sutyagin is a distinguished Belarusian fine art photographer known for his mastery in black-and-white pictorial photography. He serves on the Council of the Belarusian Association of Photographers and leads its Analogue Photography section.

The exhibition aims to illuminate Orthodox spiritual values through the dialogue of visual art, music, and poetry.

The project is conceived and curated by Tamara Levishko, parish secretary and member of the Parish Council of St. Sophia of Slutsk Church, recipient of the Order and Medal of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk, and a member of the Union of Writers of Belarus.

The opening ceremony will feature a concert of sacred music and original poetry.
