Artist Talk with Sergey Mikhalyuk. “Rice and Images of Vietnam. The Sacred”.
The Art Gallery “University of Culture” will host an Artist Talk with Belarusian photographer, artist, choreographer, and visual researcher Sergey Mikhalyuk, presented within the framework of his solo exhibition “Rice and Images of Vietnam. The Sacred.”
During the talk, the artist will introduce the concept of the project, developed through several years of observation and artistic research of traditional rural communities in Northern Vietnam. Visitors will gain insight into the exhibition’s creative vision, working process, and the philosophical and visual ideas behind the series.
Special attention will be given to the themes of time, memory, physical presence, and the sacred dimension of everyday life – central elements in Mikhalyuk’s artistic practice. The artist will also share his experience of working in Vietnam, his methods of visual observation, and the transformation of lived experience into photographic language.
