Sergey Mikhalyuk: "Fluxism. Traces of Evolution" | Gomel.

On September 17, 2026, the G.H. Vashchenko Art Gallery in Gomel will open a solo exhibition by Belarusian photographer Sergey Mikhalyuk, Fluxism. Traces of Evolution.

From Homo sapiens to Homo Sentience.
The exhibition explores the human being, perception, and the possibilities of contemporary photographic image-making. Through the interplay of light, movement, and long exposure, Mikhalyuk approaches photography not only as a means of recording reality, but also as a way of conveying states, sensations, and lived experience.

The exhibition features more than 80 large-format photographic works. The presentation is complemented by an artist-made video, a soundscape, and QR codes providing additional digital content related to selected works.

A central theme of the project is the transformation of human perception in the age of artificial intelligence and algorithmically generated imagery. Mikhaliuk considers photography as a trace of direct human experience – a record of movement, sensation, and presence.

Sergey Mikhalyuk is a Belarusian photographer and researcher of visual and embodied forms of art, working at the intersection of science art and documentary photography. He is a member of the Belarusian Association of Photographers and The Russian Union of Art Photographers, and the author of numerous solo exhibitions and publications, as well as the book Fluxism. Your Trace in the Universe.
