On 28 February 2026 at 15:00, an Artist Talk with Siarhei Mikhaliuk will take place within the framework of the conceptual photography exhibition “Fluxism. Your Trace in the Universe.”
Fluxism is a philosophical and artistic direction in contemporary conceptual photography formulated by Belarusian photographer Siarhei Mikhaliuk. The method is grounded in a deliberate rejection of traditional compositional control: often working with closed eyes, the artist allows the camera to register not objects, but streams of light generated through movement. The act of photographing becomes an embodied experience, while the image emerges as a trace of presence within space.
Derived from the word flux (flow), Fluxism is articulated as a natural stage in the evolution of photography – shifting the emphasis from representation of the visible world toward the manifestation of inner perception and lived experience.
The meeting will be held in the exhibition space and organized as an open dialogue. At the request of visitors, this format will be entirely dedicated to questions from colleagues, friends, and the public. The discussion will address the philosophical foundations of Fluxism, the author’s methodological approach, participation in exhibitions and competitions, professional development, the search for an individual artistic language, and reflections on the present and future trajectories of photography as a medium.
