On 18 June 2026 at 17:00, the Grodno Exhibition Hall will open a solo photography exhibition by Belarusian photographer Anatoly Kukharchuk, titled
The Mystery of the Black Square.
The exhibition brings together approximately 80 photographs exploring the relationship between light and darkness as fundamental dimensions of human experience. Inspired by Kazimir Malevich’s iconic Black Square, the project offers the artist’s personal reflection on themes of inner transformation, hope, and the search for meaning.
The works are built around the idea that even within darkness there remains the possibility of light. Through visual metaphors drawn from everyday reality and the natural world, Kukharchuk invites viewers to contemplate the balance between shadow and illumination, uncertainty and faith, chaos and creation.
Anatoly Kukharchuk is a Belarusian photographer and member of the Belarusian Association of Photographers and the Minsk People’s Photo Club. He is the author of more than twenty solo exhibitions and several long-term photographic projects dedicated to the philosophy of light, harmony, and human self-discovery.
