The Union of Photographers (officially, the Belarusian Association of Photographers – BAP) is a professional public organization created by photographers, for photographers.
Our mission is to foster conditions and opportunities for professional growth in photography – in both its artistic and commercial dimensions.
The Union of Photographers was founded on December 20, 2003, during its inaugural congress, where the decision to establish a creative union of photographers was made. The event brought together 179 participants from all regions of Belarus.
On August 25, 2004, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus officially registered the organization under the name Belarusian Public Association “Photoart.”
In February 2005, the Union became a member of the Belarusian Confederation of Creative Unions.
At the general congress of August 2016, members voted to rename the organization as the Belarusian Association of Photographers (BAP).
In the summer of 2023, following new legislation, BAP revised its Statute and officially established regional branchesacross the country.
