The Belarusian Association of Photographers has been a full member of the Belarusian Confederation of Creative Unions since February 2005.
The Confederation was established in 1992 and serves as a coordinating platform for cooperation among creative unions representing various fields of culture and the arts. Its members include associations of architects, designers, visual artists, journalists, photographers, filmmakers, composers, theatre and music professionals, folk art practitioners, as well as cultural foundations and профильные professional organizations. The Confederation brings together approximately 10,000 professionals working in the creative sector.
The Confederation’s activities are focused on the representation and protection of the professional, socio-economic, and copyright interests of cultural practitioners, participation in discussions on cultural policy, and the development of inter-union and interdisciplinary cooperation.
The Union of Photographers’ participation in the Confederation ensures the institutional representation of photography within the system of creative unions and enables involvement in the formulation of coordinated positions on issues of legal regulation, cultural support mechanisms, and the development of the professional environment. This membership forms part of a sustainable model of interaction between the Union of Photographers and other creative associations and public institutions in the fields of culture and the arts.
