Photography is always an invitation to dialogue.
Close Up is a space where we gather to debate, be inspired, and see the world from different angles. It’s a forum for live conversations about photography, education, and culture free of barriers and formalities. Here you’ll hear from artists and curators, question trends, share ideas, and discover new ways of seeing. We don’t look for definitive answers, we seek new perspectives and meanings.

Club Formats

In the Close Up club, we host regular meetings
in all available formats:
FILM SCREENINGS & DISCUSSIONS
Documentary and art films on photography and visual culture, followed by collective debates. We watch together, we think together.
ARTIST TALKS
Dialogues with photographers, visual artists, curators, and researchers – an exploration of the journey from concept to finished project.
LECTURES & DEBATES
Focused sessions providing professional feedback, highlighting strengths, growth points, and directions for authors and projects.
PORTFOLIO REVIEWS
A working format for projects “in progress.” In-depth critique with experts and peers, opening up fresh approaches and solutions.
CRITIQUE SESSIONS
Peer-to-peer and expert-led critical discussions of ongoing work, meant to sharpen concepts and broaden artistic vision.
SELF-PRESENTATIONS
A platform where authors can introduce themselves, share their projects, methods, and research interests.
CONFERENCES
Conversations on photography, art, culture, and society. A space for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and strategy.
ROUND TABLES
An open dialogue format addressing the challenges and future of the profession. Here every voice matters – not just experts.
THEMATIC PRESENTATIONS
Demonstrations of new techniques and technologies by artists and partners – an opportunity to learn from real case studies and broaden horizons.
