Overview
The Head of Education shapes and implements the educational mission of the Union.
This role focuses on developing meaningful, forward-looking programs in photography, visual communication, and critical thinking – fostering a culture of learning, reflection, and creative exchange.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Union’s educational strategy, including annual plans, programs, and new learning formats.
  • Curate contemporary educational initiatives – courses, workshops, discussion clubs, and internships – ensuring alignment with the Union’s exhibition and publishing activities.
  • Coordinate a team of curators, instructors, trainers, and volunteers.
  • Build partnerships with universities, institutes, and foundations to support educational and exchange projects.
  • Monitor program quality and effectiveness through feedback collection, performance evaluation, and regular reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of grant proposals, academic documentation, and strategic reports.
  • Represent the educational direction of the Union at conferences, forums, and public events, as well as manage external communications.
Requirements
  • Higher education in art, education, humanities, or cultural studies.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience managing educational or cultural programs – preferably within an art institution or educational center.
  • Strong strategic and organizational skills: project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and evaluation.
  • Deep understanding of photography and visual culture, with the ability to translate them into engaging educational formats.
  • Fluency in Russian and solid command of English for content development and international collaboration.
  • Proven skills in writing proposals, public presentations, and internal documentation.
  • Leadership and initiative, with the ability to inspire teams and maintain efficient workflows.
